What works in one space may not be appropriate in another. For instance, I was once in a small townhouse with a vaulted ceiling. The owner had seen a picture in a magazine with draperies mounted to the ceiling and wanted that same look. However, in that case, mounting the draperies that high would make the room feel more closed in rather than larger.
Every aspect of each room must be assessed in order to determine what is the best possible outcome for that particular room. Beautiful rooms do not happen by accident, they are always carefully planned. To that end, having a professional interior designer is the first step to that happy outcome.
