Project
Decoration of expanded living room for professional couple.
Challenge
An addition was done to greatly expand the living room area of client’s home. They wanted room for their grand piano and another seating group. The challenge was to have both seating areas blend together as one.
Specifics
Clients wanted a traditional look done in a more contemporary way.
Solution
A neutral palette was created in the two custom carpets, draperies, wall color and some of the furniture with a touch of blue and deep red. The tables and chests were all dark cherry or mahogany helping to ground the space.
Results
The living rooms are a lovely place for clients to entertain family and friends.
Designer notes
Color was employed to help with balance in the two spaces. There was a blue sofa in the original living room and a blue and beige chair in the new living area. A dark red chair helped to accent the original living room and dark red pillows were brought in for the white sofas in the new living area.
