Before embarking on a decorating project, assess what you have and what is important to you. I prefer to build on what people have. After all, this is not going to be my home, it’s the client’s home and should reflect who the client is. One way to do that is to include furniture or accessory items that speaks to who this person is or has some sort of sentimental value to that person. It’s more of a challenge to work around a collection of existing items but the room will feel more like their own.
