I was hired to work on a 16,000 sq. ft. home. When I looked at the blueprints I asked who brings the groceries into the home? The wife said that she did. I showed her that when she pulled into the garage she would be walking in a 60-foot circle to get her groceries into the kitchen. I suggested that a doorway be cut into the mudroom wall and in a few steps she would be in the kitchen. We would be eliminating a cabinet in the kitchen but saving many steps going back and forth.
