When I’m working with a new client, I will do an initial interview, but after a relatively short period of time, I get to know much more about the client and their family. Are they into sports? Do they have pets? Do they travel? It’s this type of information that I can help to weave more of the client into their interior design and specifically into their accessories to make the room more “them”.
In the photo below, the client selected a drapery fabric with tiny elephants on it. I picked up the elephant motif into the lamp base. It doesn’t matter if the client is an animal lover or a Republican, she happens to like elephants and I’m going to make sure her design reflects that. – Alexander Interiors, Northern Virginia
