After a lovely lunch at Gaylord’s at Kilohana Plantation, Kauai, my friend Sandy and I toured the plantation home. It’s a lovely example of island design. The architecture was definitely Hawaiian with wide plank wood floors, oriental rugs, plaster walls, and palm trees. The furnishings were 18th C English. It sounds a bit incongruous but it all looked perfect.
