Tudor Place – The Interiors and Gardens

The interior is exquisitely decorated with over 100 objets d’art from George and Martha Washington along with additions and furnishings of six generations of the Peter family, who continuously inhabited the house from 1816 to 1983.

The gardens are breathtakingly lovely, providing many private sitting areas nestled among the English boxwood trees, all planted by Martha Thomas Peter.  Among the noteworthy areas within the gardens are a bowling green, a tennis lawn, a Japanese Tea House, along with numerous individual flower gardens, some featuring most fragrant roses.
