Art is a wonderful gift to receive. Art can add a focal point for a room that does not have one. I love buying a piece of art for a special occasion. Every time I see the etchings that I had bought my husband for our first anniversary, the association takes me back to that time for a fond memory. Also, art can add an interesting juxtaposition for a room, such as adding modern art to a traditional room. Like oriental carpets, I say buy what you love.
