Granite for Countertops

Granite for countertops has been popular for a very long time.  There are many colors and patterns available.  The granite with the large swirling design gives the space a very active feeling.  At the opposite end of the spectrum, the solid black granite gives a heavier feeling to the kitchen but requires constant maintenance because it shows fingerprints and water spots very easily.  In addition, often times you need to increase the lighting to counterbalance the expanse of a black counter.  I’m not saying don’t do a black counter, but there are many dark-colored granites or manufactured quartz that are more interesting, and require less maintenance, than solid black. – Alexander Interiors, McLean, VA
